You may only want close friends and family members in your “personal space” • Touch- physical contact such as a pat on the back or a hug are positive communications. Hit and slaps are negative ways to communicate. • Physical Appearance- your appearance is one of the most powerful forms of nonverbal communication. How you look says a lot about you. • Time- You spend your time being with or doing things you value most. Also being on time communicates that you are dependable. • Silence- giving someone the “Silent Treatment” lets them know you might be up-set.
