The Respiratory System
By: Cashmere Santiago ,Karina

Sanchez, and Valerie Zheng.
What are the major organs of your system?
Nasal passage- Air enters the body and is being filtered.
What are the major organs of your
system?
Trachea-Branches into two tubes called bronchi.
What are the major
organs of your system?
Lung-Breathe in oxygen and breath out
carbon dioxide
What are the major organs of your system?
Alveoli-The small sacks carbon dioxide and oxygen is
exchange in the alveoli and the oxygen rich blood enters
the body.
What are the major organs of your system?
Pulmonary veins-What the oxygen rich blood enters the body through.
These are the major parts of the Respiratory System!
BLOOD SUPPLY
The blood is carried from the heart to the lungs. They are the thick red
vessels at the centre of this photograph of a resin cast of two lungs. The
pulmonary veins split into many branches, forming an intricate
network of vessels that carry blood to the lungs’ alveoli. There, oxygen
enters the blood, and carbon dioxide leaves it.
BLOOD SUPPLY
The pulmonary arteries split into many
branches, forming an intricate network of
vessels that carry blood to the lungs’ alveoli.
Lung Airways
• When air is breathed in, it passes down
the trachea. This divides into two airways
called main bronchi, which go to the two
lungs. Each splits into smaller bronchi,
which then split into bronchioles.
Why is your system the most
important for the Body to survive?
• The respiratory system is important
because, without the blood supply the
blood would not circulate through the body
and not function right.
• Also it’ll make it harder for our air pipes to
work.
