 Pair off in groups within your table--- if you have
an odd number of members, one group can be a
trio:
1. Elect a scribe, a visual organizer, and a spokesperson
2. The visual organizer will create a web that organizes
everything the group already knows about the Civil
Rights Movement on a piece of blank white paper, as
directed on page 34.
3. Read “Kids on the Bus: Overlooked Role of Teenagers
in the Civil-Rights Era” (35-36)
4. The scribe will write down the answers to the
prompts in Lesson 9 (Daybook pp34-36)
 Spokespeople will alert teacher when their group has
completed all the tasks for Extension #1.
 While your group waits, read the second part of the
excerpt on pages 35-36.
 Work together to answer the questions on page 36--scribe will submit your answer
 You may have time to complete lesson 10 (37-38).
 Again, students will work together on the question for
page 38 but the scribe will write your agreed upon answer.
 We will keep working until every spokesperson indicates
that their group is willing to share about lesson 9.
 To receive half credit for your missed answers on
a quiz, you must do the following.
 Show me, in your notebook, a page labeled “Quiz
Corrections.” Below the heading, include the
following:
1. The question you missed
2. The correct answer
3. The date of the notes where the answer was given to you in
advance (you can find that be going to “Logan Logic 2014”
on my webpage).
4. A sentence explaining how you chose the wrong answer and
how you intend to prevent this error in the future.
