The Verb

linking verb competes the meaning of
the verb.
Transitive and
Intransitive Verbs
• A transitive verb is a verb that

to a receiver, or object.

verb, an adjective, or another
adverb.
The Preposition
• A preposition is a word that shows
the relationship of a noun or pronoun,
called the object of the preposition,
to another word.
A conjunction
• A conjunction is a word used to join
words or groups of words.

conjunctions are
pairs of
conjunctions that
join words or word
groups that are
