Allah: The God of Islam
Is the god of Islam
the same God we worship?
Is Allah the God of Abraham?
Deuteronomy 32:31-32
31 For their rock is not like our Rock, Even our
enemies themselves being judges. 32 For their vine is
of the vine of Sodom And of the fields of Gomorrah;
Their grapes are grapes of gall, Their clusters are
bitter.
Moses was speaking about the pagans in the land
around Israel.
Their god is not like our God.
The Terms

There is some confusion about the terms

ALLAH = The name for the god of Islam



ISLAM = The religion which follows
Mohammed
MUSLIM = One who is a follower of
Mohammed
QUR'AN (Koran) = The writings of
Mohammed
Why study Islam?

Power of oil – Saudi Arabia is spending $50
million in USA to promote Islam

37 nations – Islam is the majority religion

Allah: The God of Islam

There is only one God


They reject the trinity
 They reject Jesus as the Son of God
They accept Jesus as one of 28 prophets


6 Great Prophets – Adam, Noah,
Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed
Mohammed, the promised Comforter,
was born in 570
Allah: The God of Islam

Allah is a god of:



Judgment – against all who oppose
Islam
Justice – against all Christians and
Jews (they are “infidels” in the Qur'an)
Force – Not evangelistic, but they
conquer by force
Allah: The God of Islam

Allah is a god of Reward –




For faithful to the Qur'an – heaven
Heaven is a place of running water,
shade, good food, soft couches,
beautiful women – as many as a man
desires
For those who die in battle(Jihad)
“Believers make war on the infidels
who dwell around you.” Qur'an
Allah: The God of Islam

Allah is a god of strict Morals –


Adultery, theft, alcohol, immodest dress
 Pornography, smoking
Allah is NOT a god of Love –

Islam is the only world religion not
based on love
How to talk to Muslims

Qur'an recognizes Jesus as one the great prophets

Qur'an says that we must obey the prophets

Qur'an contradicts itself on the death of Christ


One passage denies the death of Jesus

Another passage admits the death of Jesus
Turn the discussion to:

We must obey the prophet Jesus

We must teach others – evangelize, convert
Caution

Not all Muslims are violent radicals

Just as there are radicals who claim to be Christians

Millions of Muslims are gentle, kind, friendly

They try to live upright, moral lives

Do not assume that every Muslim is a terrorist

ALSO: Do not assume that they will listen to the
Bible or the teachings of Jesus
Finally:

While they do not evangelize – they conquer

If we do not evangelize:

We are not much different

We will dwindle

They will continue to grow by conquest
