2. ANGELS
 Allah revealed the
message to Muhammad
and other prophets
through angels.
 Gabriel is the chief angel
 Satan is also
represented as Shaitan,
whose greatest sin was
attempting to rival Allah.
3.MESSENGERS(PROPHETS)
 Allah used
messengers and
prophets to reveal
himself to humanity.
 Important prophets:
Adam, Noah, Abraham,
Moses, Jesus.
 Seal of the Prophets:
Muhammad (he is the
last prophet, therefore
everything has been
revealed.
 Islam is not the
youngest, but the
oldest religion.
4. JUDGEMENT DAY
 There will be a judgement day at the
end of time, ushered in by Jesus
Christ.
 The dead will rise up and be judged
according to their actions on Earth.
 No one will escape judgement.
 They will be assessed and sent to
Heaven and Hell.
5. PREDESTINATION
 History is unfolding under Allah’s
control, as it should.
 Allah gives us free choice- we
have the ability and the
opportunity to choose the way of
Allah
 Not all Muslims follow this belief
(it is not mandatory)
Read Pages 318-322 In “Exploring World Religions”
1.) Study the map on Page 318: List 7 seven countries
that have a Muslim population greater than 85%.
2.) List and create a two sentence summary of the
three systems that characterized Arabia in the 6th
century: Religious, Social, and Economic.
3.) Define the following terms: Polytheism, Idolatry, and
the Kabah (You can use pg 356-357 to help you).
4.) Who do Muslims believe is the central figure of the
emergence of Islam?
5.) What year was the Prophet Muhammad born?
6. Which angel did Muhammad receive revelations
from? These revelations were the key in leading
Muslims away from what?
7.) Explain the two special experiences Muhammad
encountered: The “Ascension-Miraj”: “the Night
Journey”
