Parts Of A Plant
The parts of a plant are the
Seed, Roots, Stem,
Leaves, and the
Fruit/Flower. They all
have a very important job
to help grow the plant.
Here is a picture of what
the parts look like.
Seeds
The seed is the first stage of
a plant. The seed is what
starts to grow everything.
First it grows the roots
then the stem and leaves
and last is the flower or
fruit.
Roots
a plant needs to grow
The roots is what
sucks up water for the
plant. Water is one of
the things a plant
needs in order to
grow. Roots are white
but can sometimes
can look brown
because of the soil.
Soil is also one of the
things.
Stem
The stem is what takes
the water up through
the stem and helps
the leaves make food.
The stem is always
green. Stems have
the leaves growing on
them.
Leaves
The leaves are what
makes the food for
the plant to grow.
Leaves are green or
brown. In the fall all
the leaves on trees
turn red, yellow,
orange, and brown.
Flower
Flowers can come in
many different
shapes, sizes, and
colors. The flower has
petals. Petals on
flowers are very soft.
Needs of a plant
The basic needs of a
plant are air, sun,
water, and soil. The
minerals in the soil
help the plant grow.
The plant drinks the
water just like us. The
air helps the plant
breath. The sun light
helps the plant make
food in the leaves.
My life as a plant!
Hi I’m Sara Seed!!! I’m a cacao tree….well not yet
right now I’m still a seed. Hi there! I said to another
seed in my bag. The other seed is my seed friend
Sydney Seed. Hey watch it! A hand picked us up. The
person made two little holes in soil with his finger.
Then he dropped us in the holes. AHHHHHH!!! We
were both glad that was over. Then he covered us up
with a blanket of soil. Each day the man walked up to
us and watered us once or twice. I didn’t know what
kind of seed Sydney Seed was but in a few months
she turned out to be a marigold flower. In a few years I
was a beautiful chocolate cacao tree!
