The Owner acquired a Mercedes-Benz dealership with the
goal to construct a new sales and service facility which
would provide their customers with the highest quality of
service available in the Pittsburgh market.
The facility is a three-story, 50,665 square foot automobile
dealership. The structure incorporates masonry bearing
walls, structural steel, precast concrete floors, and steel
joist roof structure. The exterior materials are integrally colored concrete masonry, Alucobond panels and column
covers and clear anodized aluminum curtain wall and
storefront systems.
Interior finishes include sprayed-on multicolor finish on
concrete masonry and drywall, aluminum storefront systems and open-cell and lay-in type ceiling systems. A high
degree of finish quality and detailing was provided for all
customer sales and service areas.
Parking for six new cars is provided in the finished lower
level, two-story glass showroom at the front of the building
where an Indy racecar is suspended from the ceiling. Sales
and finance offices to the rear of the space serve the showroom. A drive-through customer service area separates the
sales area from the parts and service areas on the main
floor. Offices for service representatives are adjacent to the
drive-through. A lounge and Mercedes-Benz boutique are
provided here as well. Parts and service departments are
located toward the rear of the building on the main floor.
The 18-bay maintenance department features a porcelain
ceramic floor tile, supported by a concrete double-tee floor
structure. A large lower level provides additional indoor
showroom space as well as a delivery prep area and
mechanical support spaces. A car wash is provided at the
rear of the building. The Owner's offices, parts storage and
employee areas are found on the upper floor.
A display case is incorporated into the main entry, displaying racing trophies.
