CZ02b - MORTARLESS MASONRY

> Describe your project idea
New type of masonry walls built of high precision masonry units – HPMU (of different origin
by EN 771-1 to 771-5 etc) with assembly PUR – foam “All Season Dry Fix” (without mortar).
The main advantage is immediately use of the built masonry structures (time–price–economy)
with better values of building physics characteristics. The research streams mainly to the
structural and fire behaviour of such a masonry structures (walls incl. lintels, etc.)
New combination of materials and some special topics need a detailed further research, too.
The first results from the research of 34 masonry walls are very encouraging. It is needed and
requested to continue in the research. The building practice becomes to use the technology.
> Please explain briefly your expertise
First preliminary improvements have been made in Austria. During the first half of 2006 large
research program (650 pp. project) has been realised for the Austrian customer by author:
testing and calculation in statics, acoustics, thermal physics and fire behaviour under vertical
load, by the new European Standards and compared with Czech and Austrian Standards. It is
needed to continue in the research program for ca 3 years, incl. the research of long-term
behaviour under loading, influence of aging, etc.
> Please describe what your contribution will be to this project (financial, technological,…)
We can invest our know-how and our experience in that topic, nowadays greatest in Europe,
our experience in masonry structures testing, RDI and design, our well equipped laboratories
and staff, hopefully the direct support / collaboration of some great producers, etc.
We are able to offer innovation project with practical outputs – up to preparing ETA.
> Explain which type of contribution you are looking for (financial, technological,…)
We are looking for financial support mainly – all users of the new technologies of masonry
could take advantage of the results for its direct economy profit. Cooperation with some well
experienced research institute would be invited, especially for the special research objects.
We are able and prepared to build a framework for the European research project in Re.
