Course Outline
Introduction to Bio-Identical Hormones: Functional endocrinology pathways, conventional hormones
& bio-identical hormones will be discussed (including individual benefits, indications, doses & cautions).
Neuroendocrine Approach to Diabetes & Weight Loss: This lecture explains how stress impacts
metabolism, resulting in alterations of biological set points, abnormal DNA methylation, adverse
positioning of gene coding, and impaired satiety signaling. Treatment is aimed at re-establishing
appropriate HPA feedback, modulating neuro-receptors and restoring normal hunger-satiety balance.
Clinical Cases & Lab Testing Using Bio-Identicals: The details of prescribing bio-identicals will be
continued from the first lecture. Case presentations will overview the pros & cons of various lab tests.
Compounding part 1 – Sex Hormones: Learn about compounded estrogen and progesterone, key
considerations when ordering bio-identicals and what makes a quality compounded hormone.
Infertility, HPA-axis & Genetic Optimization: In this lecture you will learn how chronic stress disrupts
normal production and secretion of hormones involved in fertility, menstruation and menopause. Learn
why treatment through altering sex hormones will rarely produce the desired outcome and never address
the underlying cause.
Integrative Management of Thyroid Dysfunction: This lecture will focus on how to recognize and
diagnose subclinical hypothyroidism. Relevant lab testing and interpretation (including free T3, reverse
T3 and thyroid antibodies) will be explored and help to guide treatment options. T3 therapy will be
compared to dessicated thyroid treatment and synthetics.
Compounding part 2 – Thyroid Hormones: This discussion will build on the foundations learned in
part 1 and highlight compounding considerations in the context of thyroid glandulars.
Integrative Management of Adrenal Dysfunction: This lecture will focus on how to recognize and
understand adrenal symptoms. Problems with conventional blood tests, diagnosis and effective
management will be highlighted.
Clinical Pearls in the Treatment of Endocrine Disorders: Complex clinical cases will be explored in
both common female and male hormone related conditions. After learning each endocrine system
individually in previous lectures, an overall understanding of the interconnections within the endocrine
system will be discussed, including the connection to toxins and eclectic treatment options.
Hot Topics, Clinical Pearls & QnA: Have your questions answered and engage in discussion with
leaders in the field of bio-identical hormones. Hot-button topics will be highlighted as well.
The EBN Advantage: Clinic - Ready Protocols
Your patients expect you to be up-to-date on nutritional
supplementation and dietary trends. Get caught up with
simple, safe and ready-to-use protocols designed for
practitioners with all levels of nutritional understanding.
