Established through donations from Temple Shalom members and other friends and family to honor the memory of Anita Winer, the Open Your Eyes fund is dedicated to strengthening our relationship with the arts at Temple Shalom. It is also a love story, in the tradition of Romeo and Juliet, about the conflict between two warring tribes (Sephardis and Askenazis), which is resolved through a process of “Jewish intermarriage.” Tuneful and funny, it is a piece of history about the fading of the Yiddish Theatre.
