Rabbi Jeffrey Saxe Rabbi Jeffrey Saxe was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUCJIR) in New York with a Wexner Graduate Fellowship, he joined the clergy team at Temple Rodef Shalom in 2007. In addition to his other rabbinical roles, Rabbi Saxe works closely with the Social Action and Youth Committees of the Temple, as well as the Green Team and the Men of Temple Rodef Shalom (MoTRS). Through his social action work, he serves on the Strategy Team for VOICE, an interfaith group working for social justice in Northern Virginia of which TRS is a member. Rabbi Saxe is also an ordained cantor and a composer, and music is an important part of his work at the Temple. He leads alternative Friday evening and Saturday morning services once a month with guitar. Rabbi Saxe has also served on national committees for the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR).
