Masters in Urban Planning (Full Time) Qualification required: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Environmental Engineering or equivalent, or Masters Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Management or Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade. Note: Candidate belonging to SC/ST Category will get relaxation of 10% marks in the Qualifying examination. PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION 1. How to Apply: Candidates are required to apply Online on institute website and send the hard copy of filled application form along with self attested testimonials and a Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs.600/-for SC/ST) drawn in favour of “Director, MITS, Gwalior” payable at Gwalior. Last date for submission of online application form is 10-06-2016. Candidates appearing in qualifying exam may also apply. It is mandatory to paste the Envelop Slip on the envelope containing the application form(Envelop slip will be generated online after the form submission). 2. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility for the program in which admission is sought before filling the application form. 3. Non-GATE qualified candidate may also apply for M.E./M.Tech./Masters in Architecture Programme. However, preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates. 4 4. Sponsored candidate applying for Part-Time PG programme should send their application through proper channel. Sponsored candidates must have at least two years experience in the relevant field after passing the qualifying examination. 5. For PART-TIME program, students residing within 40 km range from the Institute can apply. 6. Off Campus Counselling: First round of counselling will take place for candidates with valid GATE score. 7. Candidates with valid GATE score whose names are mentioned in the merit list and are interested in taking admission must report at 10.00 a.m. on 21th & 22st June, 2016 as per schedule in Table - 2, along with all necessary ORIGINAL documents in the counselling cell of the institute. Waitlisted candidates are required to report on 25th June, 2016 for admission against vacant seats (if any) at 10.00 a.m. in the counselling cell of the institute. 8. Schedule of declaration of Merit list is given in Table - 2. 9. Course wise merit list and waiting lists shall be placed on Institute’s web site www.mitsgwl.ac.in or www.mitsgwalior.in through which candidate will have an idea of his/her standing for probable admission in a particular branch. Candidates selected in different lists shall be provisionally admitted as per schedule indicated in Table-2. Admission to waiting list candidates shall be confirmed as the vacancy is created in respective courses. 10. Candidates shall be required to deposit Non-Refundable Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand only) at the time of counselling for their admission through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Director, MITS, Gwalior” payable at Gwalior. The balance amount of fee may be submitted within 7 days of admission. 11. Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates), income certificate for OBC candidates Candidates who have acquired B.E. degree from a self financed Institution (of M.P.) are required to submit the proof about AICTE approval of the Institute from the Head of the concerned Institution. Transfer Certificate and Character Certificate from the Principal of the College last attended (may be submitted within 15 days after admission) Migration Certificate (may be submitted within 15 days after admission). Gap Certificate 5 12. If seats remain vacant after first round of counselling, second counselling will take place for the NON-GATE candidates. This shall be done on the basis of merit of written test/interview conducted at the Institute. 13. No separate call letter will be issued from the Institute for Written test / interview. Information shall be available on web site www.mitsgwl.ac.in or www.mitsgwalior.in of the institute. Applicants are required to visit Institute web site regularly during admission / counselling period. All the applicants must report in the respective departments of the Institute at 10:00 AM for written test / interview as per schedule given in Table – 3. 14. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending written test/interview. 15. The provisional list of the selected candidates based on written test / interview will be displayed on the same day. The selected candidates are required to deposit Non-refundable Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand only) immediately on the same day, failing which their admission is likely to be cancelled and candidates in waiting will be given the chance. The balance amount of fee may be submitted within 7 days of admission. 16. The candidate, who has appeared this year in the qualifying examinations, will also be considered, for admission. However, if selected for admission, such candidate will be admitted provisionally, subject to condition that: (i) He / she will submit the original Mark sheet / Degree of the qualifying examination before 30/09/2016. (ii) He/ she will meet the eligibility criteria. 17. The reservation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Madhya Pradesh, as per Govt. of M.P. rules. 18. Students applying for different programs in the same department are required to submit separate application form and Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs.600/-for SC/ST) mentioning specialization of program to be considered for admission. 19. Separate application forms and demand draft are required to be submitted if applying for programs in different departments along with Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs.600/for SC/ST) drawn in favour of “Director MITS, Gwalior” Payable at Gwalior for each department. 20.
