NEURVANA®
Nano C with QUERCENATE & SODIUM LIPOATE
NanoC is a synergistic combination of Vitamin C, biologically- active alpha-Lipoic acid (as Sodium
Lipoate) and Quercetin (as Sodium Quercenate) encapsulated into a proprietary phospholipid
“Nanosphere Delivery System”. NanoSphere C is buffered to a pH of 6.6 with sodium to increase
GI tolerability at high doses.
NanoC contains Sodium Lipoate, a sodium salt of alpha-lipoic acid and Sodium Quercenate a
sodium salt of quercetin that have significantly greater bioavailability.
NanoC nanopsheres are formed from high-purity Essential Phospholipids (EPLs) that protect
Vitamin C and Lipoic Acid against degradation in the GI tract and transports them into the
circulatory system for sustained blood levels with greater bio-effectiveness and longer-lasting
beneficial actions. NanoSphere C is formed from the EPL, 1,2 dilinolenyl-phosphatidylcholine,
imported from Europe that is 100% identical to the EPL found in the in European product,
‘Lipostabil’.
Intraoral Delivery
NanoC is formulated for ‘Intraoral Delivery’, which is administration through the mucosal membranes lining the
cheeks or the floor of the mouth. Intraoral delivery of NanoSphere C nanospheres through the mucosal linings of
the oral cavity offers distinct advantages over peroral delivery (traditional oral delivery through the GI Tract). The
oral mucosa is extremely rich in blood vessels and lymphatics that unlike the GI tract do not drain into the portal
hepatic vein. Nutraceuticals from the oral mucosa directly enter the systemic circulation from the jugular vein, thus
avoiding passage through the liver where they may undergo undesirable metabolism (1 st pass liver effect). Other
tangible benefits include increased total absorption, faster onset of actions and greater bioavailability.
The NanoSphere C Nanospheres protects Vitamin C from degradation and oxidation, salivary enzymes, digestive
juices, bile salts and GI pathogens may degrade the Vitamin C before it’s absorbed in the small intestine. With the
NanoSphere C Nanosphere encapsulation of Vitamin C, few side effects occur. Larger doses are well tolerated and
better absorbed. The NanoSphere C ‘Nanopshere Delivery System’ may improve the overall efficacy of Vitamin C by
delivering Vitamin C into fatty cell structures and across the blood-brain barrier where conventional Vitamin C is
unable to penetrate.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is the body's most important water-soluble antioxidant nutrient and is involved in a wide variety of
biochemical reactions throughout the body. This water-soluble vitamin is needed for the growth and repair of
tissues in all parts of the body. Vitamin C is necessary to form collagen, an important protein used to make skin,
scar tissue, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Vitamin C is essential for the healing of wounds, and for the
repair and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.
Vitamin C is a powerful free radical scavenger. Because of its molecular structure, vitamin C is able to donate
hydrogen atoms from two hydroxyl positions to neutralize free radicals. In addition, the body uses vitamin C during
detoxification and inflammation processes, as well as immune system functions including white blood cells
production, histamine release and degradation, the reduction of glutathione and the metabolism and protection of
several other nutrients.
Vitamin C has a broad range of important biological functions and adjunctive uses. They include immunological,
detoxification, cardiovascular, anti-allergy, and anti-viral actions.
NEURVANA®
A primary function of Vitamin C is as reducing agent in the cell. Since the body of the cell is a chemical reducing
environment and the endoplasmic reticulum is oxidizing, the body imports oxidized vitamin C, dehydroascorbate,
into the endoplasmic reticulum and exports vitamin C from the endoplasmic reticulum to maintain the chemical
gradient. Oxidized vitamin C is need for converting the amino proline to hydroxyproline in the synthesis of collagen.
For the same reason, Vitamin C is required for the synthesis of neurotransmitters. Vitamin C is also required to
synthesize carnitine.
Vitamin C and Immunity
Vitamin C stimulates the immunological functions of cellular motility, chemotaxis and phagocytosis. Vitamin C
stimulates the production leukocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and phagocytes. Neutrophils, which attack foreign
bacteria and viruses, are a primary cell type stimulated by vitamin C. Vitamin C also increases serum levels of
antibodies and C1q complement proteins. Vitamin C has been shown to increase interferon levels.
Vitamin C has the unique ability to protect neutrophils, mononuclear phagocytes, and lymphocytes from oxidative
damage, microorganisms and non-specific toxins. Even though reactive oxygen species kill pathogens they damage
the leukocytes. Vitamin C’s antioxidant activity protects the leukocytes from auto-oxidation.
Neurotransmitter Function
Vitamin C is required for biochemical processes involving the neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine and
serotonin. Vitamin C is an immediate precursor in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine in the
central nervous system. Vitamin C is critical for biochemical conversion of dopamine to norepinephrine and an
essential catalyst in 5HTP production. Vitamin C is required for balancing neurochemicals.
Ocular Protection
Taking vitamin C may reduce the risk of cataracts by fighting free radicals that damage the lens of the eye. Macular
degeneration is the second most common cause of vision loss. Vitamin C supplementation may help prevent
macular degeneration by protecting the retina against damage from free radicals.
Cancer Prevention
Numerous studies have shown that an adequate intake of vitamin C can lower the risk of developing cancers of the
breast, cervix, colon, rectum, esophagus, larynx, lung, mouth, prostate, and stomach.
Detoxification and Anti-mutagenic Actions
Many environmental pollutants cause carcinogenic, toxic or mutagenic effects. Vitamin C helps combat these
harmful effects by stimulating detoxifying enzymes in the liver and blocking the formation of mutagens. Vitamin C
is involved in detoxifying heavy metals that include lead, cadmium and mercury. For example,
Cardiovascular Health
An adequate intake of Vitamin C helps protect against stroke and heart attacks. In research Vitamin C has been
shown to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, decrease blood viscosity and protect blood against
oxidation. In conjunction with vitamin E. Vitamin C helps to lower the risk of atherosclerosis by strengthening the
artery walls from synthesis of collagen and preventing the undesirable adhesion of white blood cells to the lining of
blood vessels.
Arthritis
Studies have shown that the levels of vitamin C levels in the blood from rheumatoid arthritis patients are extremely
low. Furthermore vitamin C helps protect against damage to inflamed joints and connective tissues.
Anti-histamine Actions
Release of the small molecule histamine is the body’s response mechanism to allergens and inflammation. An overproduction of histamine resulting from an allergic reaction or inflammation can produce many of the symptoms
NEURVANA®
associated with common allergies. This includes sneezing, runny nose and dry, itchy eyes. Several studies have now
linked the production of histamine in response to allergens or inflammation with higher levels of anxiety levels and
behavioral depression. Vitamin C antagonizes histamine by helping break down histamine molecule, rather than by
blocking histamine receptors.
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Lipoic Acid occurs naturally in every cell of the body and is essential to the chemical reactions that allow our bodies
to produce energy. Lipoic Acid has been called the ideal antioxidant and is a key component in the antioxidant
network. This compound acts as an antioxidant, however, only when there is an excess of it, and it is in the "free"
state in the cells; but there is little free Lipoic Acid circulating in your body, unless you take it as a supplement.
Foods contain only tiny amounts of it.
Lipoic Acid reverses the cellular redox status (from a more oxidized to a more reduced state) which helps prevent
inflammation, associated with all of the chronic degenerative diseases of aging. In particular, Lipoic Acid plays a
crucial role in protecting the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures in cells and the genetic material, DNA.
As we age, mitochondrial function is impaired, and it’s theorized that this may be an important contributor to some
of the adverse effects of aging.
Research has shown that Lipoic Acid may be beneficial in humans and animals with heart disease, ischemiareperfusion injury, diabetes, cataract formation, HIV activation, multiple sclerosis, neurodegeneration, radiation
injury, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as declines in energy, muscle strength, brain function and
immunity.

Reduces appetite, opposes fat accumulation and increase lean muscle mass
Protects the integrity of the brain and nervous system
Quercetin
Quercetin is a flavonoid, a plant-derived compound found in fruits and vegetables. Flavonoids have generated
scientific interest because of their potential beneficial effects on human health, including antioxidant, antiinflammatory, antitumor, and antiviral activities.
Quercetin is considered the most abundant and active flavonoids from nature. It’s a powerful antioxidant that
promotes a healthy immune and cardiovascular system. Quercetin controls inflammation, has natural antihistamine actions and supports a healthy DNA structure. Quercetin is thought to prevent the release of histamine
from certain immune cells. (An inflammatory chemical, histamine is involved in allergic symptoms such as sneezing
and itching.) Findings from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial indicates that use of quercetin
supplements may improve symptoms in most men with chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Studies have shown that
quercetin may help slow the growth of some types of cancer cells.

Essential Phospholipids
NanoC contains the Essential Phospholpids - 1,2 Dilinolenylphosphatidylcholine with 65% Linoleic Acid that is 100%
identical in structure and function to the Essential Phospholipids contained in the in European product ‘Lipostabil’.
In clinical trials Essential Phospholipds (EPLs) have produced a wide range of desirable effects such as maintaining
cell membrane structure and function, normalizing lipid levels, ccardiovascular enhancements, liver protection,
detoxification of xenobiotics (foreign substances), and cognitive enhancements.
The Underpinnings of the NanoSphere Nanosphere Delivery System
Nanosphere Delivery Systems for dietary supplements and nutraceuticals are based on the pharmaceutical industry
models of nano-sized particle spheres formed from bioactive phospholipids and simple fatty acids. The NanoSphere
C Nanosphere Delivery System begins with the same phospholipid biomaterials that form plasma lipoproteins and
controlled-release reservoirs.
The result is a 68 nm spherical delivery systems that can 1) improve the absorption from the gut and oral cavity
into the systemic circulation, 2) shield the molecules from extensive pre-systemic metabolism, 3) avoid uptake by
the Reticuloendothelial System of the liver and spleen, 4) create longer circulation life in the body, and 5) transport
active ingredients agent into the intracellular space.
