FESTIVAL™ cordyline
var. JURred, CorBzr01, and CorJur08
(Sold as Red Fountain™ in AU and NZ)
With its glossy mahogany/burgundy leaves, compact bushy form and cascading habit, Festival™cordyline makes a
bold statement in any garden, landscape or container planting. Festival combines compact color in a cascading form
with low maintenance. It grows quickly and looks great mass planted - ideal to cover banks, borders or large openspace plantings with style. Festival cordyline performs equally well in full sun or shade and is a low water-use plant.
Cordylines are normally small trees or palm-like evergreen shrubs. However, Festival™ is different because it is basal
branching and forms multiple short stems spreading out from the base of the plant to create a sturdy low-growing plant,
growing to about 3 1/2 feet high. Its long strappy leaves cascade to create a fountain effect that is highly prized in
landscape and container plantings.
Festival™ is available in three colors: Burgundy, Raspberry and Lime (available
in 2016). Hardy in USDA Zones 8-11, Festival cordyline is an upright tropical
suited to warm climate perennial borders and landscapes and is superb everywhere in patio pots. Because they are not bothered by dry heat/air, they can
also be grown indoors as well-behaved houseplants.
PROFESSIONAL TIPS
• This is the prince of container plants; whether set in a grid of pots for a
moment of sculptural repetition or used as the core planting in a mixed
arrangement in a planter.
• Where space is tight, alongside a drive or a pool, a staggered line of Festival
cordylines gives the impression of massed planting. Combined with a fence
covered with star jasmine for a nicely partnered zero-maintenance planting.
• Dress up a driveway with a mass of Festival cordylines teamed with
Flower Carpet® roses for a high-end look with a low-maintenance requirement.
