Liriope Evergreen Giant Liriope Evergreen Giant has deep, strap-like foliage and produces upright spikes of blue to purple flowers in summer. The shrubs arching leaves develop an interesting fountain-like effect that displays a pleasant movement in the wind. Evergreen Giant is a versatile plant with clumps of soft grass-like foliage that thrives without care in almost any garden. It’s tall form and low maintenance makes it a popular choice in many landscaping applications. It is ideally suited to bordering plant beds or walkways. For maximum effect, plant a number of Evergreen Giants in a group under tall trees. Genus: Liriope Species: muscari Growing: Enjoys full sun to part shade. Drought and coastal garden tolerant and grows moderately fast. Soil: Must be planted in well drained soil and is suitable for a range of soil types. Water: Requires little watering - water when establishing. Foliage & Flowering Features: This clumping shrub forms a fountain-like effect. The evergreen grass-like arching leaves are glossy and narrow. Small purple and blue flowers are held from summer to autumn. Origin: China and Japan Uses: Liriope Evergreen Giant can be grown tall to shade groundcover gardens, or planted in a group to make a statement in an empty area of the garden. It looks particularly good when planted in rows or used as edging. It can also be grown as a feature plant in a pot. Maintenance: Minimal care is required. Cut back any brown leaves in winter to promote new growth.
