Deepak Mohoni (BT/CHE/75), after his graduation from IIT Kanpur continued his
studies and obtained MBA from IIM Calcutta. He is a stock market analyst, who is
famous for coining the term 'Sensex' to name the Bombay Stock Exchange's bench
mark stock index.
Mr. Mohoni is the founder of Trendwatch (India) Pvt. Ltd. He is rated as India's
foremost market strategist by many investors. Deepak popularised the use of technical
analysis with his pioneering columns in the Economic Times and Business World. He
has appeared on several television channels including ET Now, BBC, CNBC TV18,
NDTV Profit, Zee Business, Aaj Tak, Star TV and Doordarshan.
Abstract: How to start investing in stocks for beginners, soon after graduation. The
talk will be tailored for IIT students, with two primary objectives - (1) To understand
how stock prices move, and (2) A simple investment plan which will help build a very
comfortable nest egg in ten years.
