Disease- Any harmful change in the health of your body and mind.
Pathogen- Anything that causes an infectious disease.
Infectious Disease- Any disease caused by pathogens that invade the body.
Communicable Disease- A disease that can be passed from person to person only.
Non-Infectious Disease- A disease that is not caused by a pathogen.
First Lines of Defense- Sweat, Tears, Saliva, Skin, Mucous Membranes, Stomach Acids and Helpful
Microorganisms.
Immune System- The tissues, organs, and cells that fight pathogens inside of the body.
White Blood Cells- The cells that fight and remove pathogens in the blood stream.
Vaccines- Helps prevent diseases caused by a Virus.
