Geometry
Level:
PS3
Course Description: This course will focus on analyzing properties of two dimensional and 3
dimensional shapes and figures. It is the bases of many physics, robotics, architecture and engineering
courses. Since we do not live in a 1 dimensional world this is an introduction to real world measurements
and calculations.
Course Goals:
Upon completion of this course students will:
• Recognize and define geometric shapes and figures
• Understand patterns and formulate logical mathematical arguments
• Understand transformations, symmetry, congruency, and use spatial reasoning.
• Use formulas and theorems to prove and calculate geometric relationships
Course Objectives:
This course will provide foundational skills and helps to build the thinking skills of
logic, deductive reasoning, analytical reasoning and problem solving
