Market Me Marketing | Micro-targeting Questionnaire Identify Ideal Client/Target Market/Niche As 2015 is the year to get really serious about your target market and microtargeting, I’ve put some questions below to help you identify, who your target market is, and secondly what niche’s you may be able to target for better results. Target Market If you are unsure of who your target market is, then sit down and ask yourself these questions. If you have already done this work, I recommend doing it again just for a refresher, you never know, you might learn something new and be able to further refine your reach. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) What is the problem or need you are offering a solution to? What age group needs your solution? Are they male, female or both? What keeps these people up at night? Where do they hang out. Social media? Offline? Where? How tech savvy are they? What do they look like? Where do they live? What do they do in their spare time? Do they have kids? Are they busy? What else can you tell about your potential target market. 8) Who would be the quickest age group to take up your solution? 9) What do these people find frustrating? 10) Who has bought from you in the past? Is there a trend? 11) What excites these people? 12) What is their sense of humour like? 13) What motivates them to buy? Do they buy online or offline? 14) What is their ideal lifestyle? There might be other questions or ideas of things that come to mind as you work through this too, write down as much as you can. Micro-targeting – finding a Niche within your target market Now say for example you identified that 25 -35yr old Women are your target market. What niche can you tap into for a period of time to really micro-target and run a campaign specifically for them? Might be business owners, mums with bubs, working parents, people in Adelaide, or Asia with a certain need. Ideal Client/Customer – Avatar Some business owners then find it really helpful to sit down and write out a bio of the ideal client/customer, we call it an Avatar. Write down as much as you can about this person, what they look like, how they act, what lights them up etc, then put a copy of that onto your pinboard so that when you are creating marketing campaigns and promoting your business, you can really target in directly. You might even find it helpful to draw that person, or look through magazines to find a picture that looks like that person, and pin that up in front of you. It just bring major clarity to your marketing and also more clarity because you are clean on what you need to be doing. Using target markets to create marketing campaigns Now try forumating a marketing campaign across a 3 month period, that speaks directly to the ideal person/target market/niche as outlined above. REMEMBER targeted marketing campaigns will not only give your campaign legs, it will make it easier for you to know how and who to direct your marketing to (think as if that person was sitting right in front of you!). It will also take your marketing dollar further, and grow your business faster. Copyright 2015 Market Me Marketing. www.marketmemarketing.com
