Digital Marketing Communications Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the chief communications officer, the manager for digital marketing
communications works to develop and execute digital marketing plans on behalf of various NLN
business units, centers, and their products, programs, and services, monitoring adherence to
mission, style, and graphics policy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all aspects of planning, development, enhancements, and updates for website, online
marketing, and social media

Manage and oversee social media and digital marketing; including content, research, project
management, and analytics and insights.

Oversee email marketing platform and ensuring both design and technical integrity

Serve as the point person for matters involving website traffic, SEO, and SEM activities.

Ensure that the NLN’s marketing communications materials are posted properly on
internal/external web sites, as well as on the Intranet.

Develop a working knowledge of personnel, functions, and activities of relevant external
vendors and suppliers.

Write and edit copy for a variety of communications vehicles including marketing collateral,
presentations, advertising, website and email promotions, as well as manage production
and dissemination.

Consult with internal clients to develop and implement marketing communications strategies
while maintaining overarching organizational mission and goals.

Manage the production of marketing vehicles, including establishing objectives and
deadlines for projects, coordinating both internal and external resources.

Work with the art director on the creative process including copywriting, design, and
production for both online and off-line marketing materials including brochures, newsletter
articles, direct mail pieces, eblasts, etc.

Work with the communications staff and the Office of the COO to produce marketing
collateral for annual Education Summit.

Assist with the copy editing and proofreading of NLN public materials.

Supervise communications assistant.

Work with web development team with SEO strategies and implementation.

Work with the Office of the CEO on various projects as needed.

Work on other projects and activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
 Degree in marketing, communications, or related field

Five years experience in marketing communications

Creative and analytical thinks who has a track record of identifying and executing
successful integrated brand, events, social, and PR campaigns

Strong project management experience and ability to manage resources

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent writing, interpersonal,
and collaborative skills

Positive working rapport with colleagues

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Some
web design experience preferred with HTML and InDesign

Experience with web and social analytics tools

Ability to work with others to promote teamwork and meet the needs of the
Communications Business Unit and the National League for Nursing and its members
LOCATION
This position is full-time, on-site in Washington, DC.
