Transcript
Homer is the name given to the purported author of the
early Greek poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. It is now generally believed [attribution needed]
that they were composed by illiterate aoidoi (rhapsodes) in an oral tradition in the 8th or
7th century BC.
(Greek:
Κλεισθένης, also Clisthenes or Kleisthenes) was a noble Athenian of the Alcmaeonid
family. He is credited with reforming the constitution of ancient Athens and setting it on
a democratic footing in 508 BC or 507 BC
.
