JOB DESCRIPTION: Marketing Manager Responsible to: Board of Trustees and Artistic Director Responsible for: Marketing and communication of all of the events, activities and branding of the BAC. You will be part managing and receiving assistance from a new Creative Agency being set up in house in Sept 2016. Type of contract 2 year fixed term funded post, extension subject to funding Holiday 25 days pro rata Wage £20,000 pro rata Hours 16 hours a week. Preferably spread over 3-4 days, but not essential. Start date ASAP if possible, no later than late August. Key Relationships Working very closely with the Artistic Director Co managing the Creative Agency with tutor Receiving assistance from the administrator, mainly on volunteer rotas. Receiving assistance from key volunteers on marketing tasks Creative Agency The Creative Agency is an Arts Council funded two year project beginning in Sept 2016 whereby we will be co-delivering 6 Creative Media Production Diplomas within a real work setting of the Arts Centre. We are co-delivering this with boomsatsuma, a Bristol based young people's creative opportunities and education provider. This is the third year we will be working in partnership with boomsatsuma, and it is our third successful Arts Council application we have gained to offer young people in the area creative training. The marketing manager will not be responsible for the teaching of the diploma. There will be a full time tutor in the Centre doing this. However the marketing manager will be working very closely with the tutor to offer content for training of the young people. In essence the marketing manager will have up to 6 marketing assistants to deliver all the marketing work through delegation. There will be direct management therefore of the Creative Agency members. Main Responsibilities Deliver all the marketing and external communication tasks of the Bridgwater Arts Centre. Develop and expand current marketing activities Devise and implement a rebrand of the BAC in line with the Rebranding and Development Plan. Grow the BAC database and general reach/ engagement and press/pr contacts. Marketing and communication co-ordination Ensuring all the tasks are completed for each separate event using our in-house 12 week marketing schedule, this includes press releases and social media campaign Recruiting and managing volunteers in order to develop our distribution process to reach further and wider Responsibility of keeping the shopfloor marketing materials tidy and up to date Management of website, CRM and Email Outs (Mailchimp) Deliver campaigns already arranged for BAC profile raising, mainly surrounding the 70th anniversary Supporting the Artistic Director and Centre Manager to expand and improve membership schemes Nurture and expand relationship with press Manage the production of the brochure, liaising with the designer Strategy and Expansion Continue the work laid out in our 12 month marketing strategy adding to it and lay out the marketing strategy for the next 12 months Expand our database, reach and engagement Improve our online content with the help of the Creative Agency Rebranding In Jan 2016, the board, staff and key volunteers had a very successful At Home Day we we collectively wrote a Rebrand and Development Plan for the Arts Centre. This will be the starting point for the new marketing manager to develop a rebranding plan. This will focus on to core areas: the design and the communication. It will include: - Logo - Content and website design tweak - Signage and general communication content As well as the 12 week marketing schedule, this is the area that will most directly include the Creative Agency. People management Management of any volunteers supporting marketing tasks Management of the Creative Agency specifically regarding completing marketing tasks set out by the marketing manager General tasks 1. Any other tasks relevant to the duties of the post. 2. Act as duty manager when needed Please note that all staff members are expected to take one duty manager evening shift a month on a voluntary basis. Any additional evening shifts will be given as time off in lieu. Person Specification Marketing Manager KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Desirable Experience of managing marketing in a Direct experience of acting as customer focused centre/ facility/ Marketing Manager/marketing organisation assistant for an Arts Centre Experience of managing/co-managing young people in a work capacity Written and fully delivered successful Marketing Strategies Experience of developing excellent working relationships and team work between internal and external stakeholders. Qualification in marketing Able to demonstrate a record of implementing and managing successful marketing campaigns Managed a team Management of websites / CRMs / Ticketing Systems / email out systems Proficient I.T level experience Demonstrate excellent written and general communication skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear, meaningful and effective way PERSONAL QUALITIES Strong commitment to the BAC's vision Have an enthusiasm for the Arts and values A social media addict Excited by marketing and the new trends that will ensure the BAC keeps relevant Positivity and patience when teaching teenagers the basics of marketing Able and willing to work flexible hours which may involve evenings and weekends in order to facilitate full use of the Centre.
