Future Active Participles

Forms
 The Future Active Participle is formed from
the 4th principal part of the verb.
 Take off the –us ending and add the
following endings:
– -urus, -ura, -urum
 Like perfect passive participles, they decline
like first and second declension adjectives.
Forms - Deponents
 Take the –us off the 3rd principal part and
add: -urus, -ura, -urum
 The meaning is active.
Exceptions to the Rule
 Some verbs have a future active participle
that has the following endings:
-iturus, itura, iturum.
Example: morior, mori, mortuus sum – to
die
The future active participle is moriturus, -a, um
I will tell you when a verb has a unique form.
Weird Forms
 The future participle of eo, ire is:
Iturus, itura, iturum
• The future participle of sum, esse is:
futurus, futura, futurum
