DRAFT JOB DESCRIPTION 2008-2009 Job Holder’s Name: Job Title: Group Product Manager / Marketing Manager Reporting To: Group Managing Director Job Purpose: As Group Product Manager, you will be charged with all elements of the marketing mix across all product groups within Femcare-Nikomed Ltd. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience, your contact with customers and prospects and from feedback received from the Domestic and International Sales. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical understanding; an ability to visualise a big-picture perspective, yet drive the day to day activities to support our business requirements. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand the problems, find innovative solutions for the broader market and ensure the sales team has the tools to “get the job done”. You must be able to communicate within all functions of the company. You will work with the Group Managing Director to define product release requirements. You will work with all functions including but not limited to Sales, Business Development, Technical, Customer services, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. Group Managing Director Key Contacts: Group Administration Manager, Group Sales Director, Direct Sales and Customer Services Team, International Distributors. Group Business Development Director/Manager, Group Regulatory Affairs and Quality Manager, Group Research and Development Manager and Group Finance Director. Customers, Key Suppliers and Manufacturers. A strong business driver, good communicator and influencer, articulate, numerate and very well organised. You will be educated to degree level, preferably have a secondary qualification e.g. MBA and undertaken a Product Management role ideally within the medical device sector. You will need to be articulate, numerate and analytical by nature. Key Competencies: -1- Strength of character but able to achieve objectives through influence rather than confrontation. Persuasive by nature yet a team player. Have the initiative and drive to develop new concepts and carry ideas through. A finisher! Strong communication/presentation skills, with the ability to disseminate complex information to a wide audience. Meticulous attention to detail. Key Accountabilities: Provide daily marketing support to direct and international sales. Maintain and update all current training modules, ensuring all new product launches have appropriate training modules Ensure availability of promotional material across all key product groups and they are in line with corporate branding. Work with the Group Administration Manager to ensure consistent corporate presence at key domestic and international exhibitions and conferences, e.g. RCOG. Build relationships with key opinion leaders and surgeon champions. Manage the Product launch process from concept to finished goods. Working with Field Sales teams to drive Centres of Excellence to evaluate our new product launches. Undertake market research reviews and create draft business plans where appropriate. Review product portfolio of all current suppliers, recommend additional product launches. Provide marketing input to new product opportunities when presented by senior management. Build relationships with key suppliers, ensuring all have been visited once by close of fiscal period. Provide first class marketing support to Distributor and Direct markets in the driving of Filshie related products and ensure market conversion targets are met. Organise Meetings of Medical Advisory Board when relevant, and identify product champions where necessary. Work with Group MD to identify synergistic business opportunities.
