Integrated Access to Clinical Information
hCare Portal offers current Meditech integration of patient information
available from within the facility or remotely via hCare Access
PACS, EFD OB Link, Prior Charts, UpToDate and MUSE Integration
1.
YOUR PATIENT LIST TAB (Patient Name and Location)
Your patient list is created based on existing patient/physician relationships such as admitting or consulting physician. You may ADD
patients to establish a new relationship or REMOVE patients from your list. Use the SORT button to sort by name or location. You may
FILTER your patient view by using the ALL button. You may choose to view your patients together or by separate facilities.
To ADD a patient to your list:
 Click MANAGE – ADD Patient
 Enter search criteria, LAST name – FIRST name, click on SEARCH
 Select the patient and visit(s) you want to view
 Define the relations, e.g., Consulting, Primary Care Physician
 Click ADD - you will now have that patient on your list
 Click CLOSE
To REMOVE a patient from your list:
 Click MANAGE – REMOVE Patient
 Your list of patients will display
 Click on the patient(s) you want to remove
 Click the REMOVE button
 THIS PATIENT WILL REMAIN ON YOUR MEDITECH LIST UNTIL YOU REMOVE THEM WITHIN MEDITECH

DATA DISPLAY OPTIONS (Table of Contents)
Simply highlight what you wish to view
 New Results – lists all unviewed clinical data
 Overview – summary of patient visits and notes
 Patient Detail – patient demographics for most recent visit
 Visits – details for visit such as account number and providers











Allergies – list available known allergies
Clinical Notes – list all clinician notes, (dictated physician reports, nurses notes)
Medications – list medications including Medication Administration Record (MAR)
Lab Results – display variety of user-defined options such as panels and tables
Order Status – list current orders and their status
Test Results – list all other results (x-rays, microbiology, anatomical pathology)
Vitals and I/O – tabular display of data
OB Link – this will allow you to log into OB Link to view patient fetal monitoring
PACS
INTEGRATED PORTAL – links for PACS and MUSE under the Data Display Options
PATIENT DATA DISPLAY (Patient Detail Information)
After selecting a patient from your Patient List then choosing what you wish to view from the Data Display Options (table of contents) you
will see the specific patient data display on the right side of the screen.
 Use filters to change time frames or to select specific types of data, i.e. History and Physicials, Consults, OP Reports
 The grey header (Date – Components - etc) are “sortable”, simply click on the header and it will sort the information below, you
can reverse dates, sort by author, etc.
 STICKY Buttons – if you wish to view Lab data on several patients simply choose your first patient, click on Lab Results and
when done viewing, click on your next patient from your Patient List – you will be taken directly to Labs for that new patient
 If you wish more details simply click on the results and more information will display below
CHANGE VIEWS USING DATA FILTERS, DROP-DOWN SELECTIONS AND GRPAHING
You can view more general or more granular data by using data filters and drop-down lists within each data display option. You can also
graph labs, vitals and medication administrations.
PRINT YOUR INFORMATION – there are printer icons on the screen which will allow you to print, LOOK FOR ICON
RESOURCE TAB – The Resource tab offers you access to the following:
 New England Journal of Medicine
 Clinical Pharmacology
 Up-To-Date
 New York Stock Exchange
 Training Classes through Healthstream
