Remarkably, 2017 marks the 15th anniversary of the Just 'Cause 60 mile walk.
(Once again / I will be part of / I will join with) a dedicated group of walkers will be
walking 60 miles through our local country roads in the annual Just ‘Cause Breast Cancer Walk, a
fundraising event unlike any other. Some of you have been part of this very special (and very
successful) effort to support the MGH Center for Breast Cancer and the Virginia Thurston Healing
Garden.
June 2-4, 2017 will be the last year that the Just 'Cause 3-day Walk will take place in its original
format. We have a dream for the last 3-day walk - to bring the total raised by Just 'Cause to
$2,000,000. This milestone goal is within reach - we need to raise $193,000 to get there. We have
come very close to that before and together...we can do it again!
Since ’Just Cause was founded in 2002, a small group of walkers has raised more than $1.7 million
for breast cancer research and support services.
While 2017 is the last 3-day walk our mission to support the MGH Center for Breast Cancer and the
Virginia Thurston Healing Garden is steadfast and will continue in a new format. As always, this year
the Just ’Cause walk is committed to donating 100% of all money raised to organizations addressing
the needs of people with breast cancer—The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard and the
Center for Breast Cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital.
We are appealing to friends, relatives, neighbors and businesses to help us meet both our individual
fundraising and our collective goal. Please support our mission by mailing a donation or donating
online through the Just ’Cause website at www.justcausewalk.org/donate.html . Your contributions
are tax deductible, and will go directly where help is needed most—for breast cancer research and
support services for patients and their families. PLEASE SPECIFY if you want your donation to go to
The Healing Garden (www.healinggarden.net) or to Center for Breast Cancer
(www.massgeneral.org/cancer), or split your donation between the two organizations.
