Semester One Project- 2013
World History Annotated Bibliography
Mr. Christie
In order to earn an A in this history class, you
must complete a semester project and earn at
least a B on it. The project is due any time
between now and Thanksgiving Break. You
may submit a draft for revision and meet with
me as many times as necessary.
Choose one of the standards or sub-standards in
the 10th grade curriculum and create an
annotated bibliography for the topic. Choose at
least 7 resources for your annotated bibliography
and explain each resource in a paragraph or so. Explain why each resource is useful to us
for studying the subject. Each entry must be in MLA format and there must be virtually
no errors in conventions.
Example
10.3 Students analyze the effects of the Industrial Revolution in England,
France, Germany, Japan, and the United States.
Source:
Green, Hank. “Coal, Steam, and the Industrial Revolution: Crash Course in History #32.”
YouTube. 30 Aug. 2012. Web. 12 Oct. 2013.
Annotation:
Hank Green narrates an eleven minute video that would work well as an introduction or
refresher on the Industrial Revolution. Delving into the cause and effect relationships of
the revolution, Green uses a combination of animation, visual and video to present this
fast-paced, high interest review. Moving from the early events of the revolution to
important people and events, this Crash Course installment is both entertaining and
informative.
You may use any resources you think would be valuable to a class of 10th grade students.
They can be web sites, books, videos, primary sources etc.
See my resources related to the project on my website. Submit your final Annotated
Bibliography to the Moodle Post “Semester One Project- Annotated Bibliography.”
Thank you for adding to the strength of our World History class!
