Research Project:
Choose one of the following topics: (with a partner)

Persuasive Speech: (50 points)



Decide whether you are going to present information as Squealer or Snowball.
Present key points gathered from your research in a 2 minute oral presentation
using propaganda techniques as you portray the role of Snowball or Squealer.
YOU MAY NOT READ YOUR SPEECH. You may have a note card, but you must know
your speech.

List of Propaganda techniques: (20 points)

Submit a list of propaganda techniques (i.e., bandwagon, loaded words, etc.) used in
your speech. Give examples from your speech as support. Also, note body language
and inflections used to persuade your audience.
Annotated Bibliography: (30 points)



An annotated bibliography is a critical and explanatory note about a subject. Each
bibliography entry is followed by an annotation.
The purpose of the annotation is to provide a brief overview of the main points (CD)
included and to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy and quality of the
sources cited (CM).
Each entry must be in the proper format.
o Alphabetized by author’s last name or title of article if no author is given
o First line in the left margin and second line indented five spaces
o Double space the entire document
o See pages 66-67 in Student Writer’s Handbook as a reference.
