By Alexander Pan In Greek mythology, Pan is the god of flocks and shepherds. He is half human and half goat. He has goat horns and goat feet. Pan plays the flute and is an excellent musician. He was most seen in the wild looking for someone to fall in love with him, but he was always rejected because of his appearance. There are several versions of his birth and who his parents were. Some say his parents were Zeus and Hybris. Others say his mother was Penelope, wife of Odysseus and her mate, Hermes, or possibly Apollo. Pan was born in Arcadia. It has been told that while hunting, Pan spotted a beautiful nymph named Syrinx, but she rejected him because of his looks. Crenut looked very weird. His body was a leaf. He had no heart or lungs. Gods and goddesses wondered how he still managed to live. Even his brain was a leaf. His bones were stems, his nose was a broken leaf, and even his mouth was a leaf. Crenut couldn’t eat anything. He couldn’t find a way to open his leaf (mouth) without breaking it. Eventually, everyone got curious about how Crenut lived. All the gods and goddesses attacked Crenut to see how he lived. Crenut spit out an army of leaves. The gods and goddesses thought all they had to do was step on them. Wrong. Almost all the gods and goddesses died. There were only 4 gods left. They were Hephaestus, Pan, Hestia, and Hermes. They were the ones that hid behind trees and attacked the army and didn’t listen to Zeus about charging. It was the final battle, the lasts of the gods verses Crenut. It was an epic battle. Crenut only won because after he killed Pan he created 2 Cyclopes named grass and petal. Grass had the power to trap people in grass forever. Petal could make you pass out if you smelled petals he possessed. Crenut was the only god left, but died from starvation. Since he died all of the Cyclopes including grass and petal died because the trees went away. That is how all of the gods, goddesses, and Cyclopes died.
