Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology Academy Digital Agenda- Week 12 Dates: October 22-26 Teacher: Miss Holly Forsyth Date: 10/22-10/23 Subject/Course: Geometry Grade: 11 Do Now: Periods 1,3: Midpoint and distance Formulas, use them for #4-5 on Thursday’s worksheet. Periods 2,4: Exit slip from Friday with sub Standard(s): 7.0 Students prove and use theorems involving the properties of parallel lines cut by a transversal, the properties of quadrilaterals, and the properties of circles. 12.0 Students find and use measures of sides and of interior and exterior angles of triangles and polygons to classify figures and solve problems. Learning Objective (s): Given a PowerPoint presentation, an interactive collaborative practice with Geogebra, and Khan Academy curriculum, students will 4K Prove that a trapezoid is isosceles when both pairs of base angles are congruent, or when the diagonals are congruent, and give examples. 4M Prove the midsegment theorem for trapezoids, and use it to find the measure of the midsegment. 4I Describe conditions for when a quadrilateral is an isosceles trapezoid. 4L Use the properties of trapezoids to find the measures of missing sides and angles. by solving the four questions exit slip with a 75% or better within the 2-hour block. Assessment: Students will complete a four-question exit slip. Whole Group Note-taking: Clarify anything from Thursday/Friday with sub. Proofs with trapezoids (see PowerPoint- October 22-23), Geogebra tutorial Materials: Smart board, notebook, pencils, Geogebra Direct Instruction Prove when a trapezoid is isosceles, prove midsegment theorem, practice problems on missing sides/angles in trapezoids. Materials: whiteboards, markers and erasers. Independent / Computer Assisted Activity Khan Academy: Quadrilaterals Overview, video and practice, any videos not watched last week. Materials: Computer, notebook, and pencil. Collaborative Use geogebra to complete a worksheet on the properties of quadrilaterals, especially trapezoids and kites. Materials: Computers, worksheet, notebook, and pencil. Teacher: Forsyth Do Now: SAT Practice test Standard(s): Learning Objective (s): Date: 10/24 Subject/Course: Geometry Grade: 11 Practice test. Assessment: SAT Whole Group Independent / Computer Assisted Activity Direct Instruction Collaborative SAT? Teacher: Forsyth Date: 10/25-10/26 Subject/Course: Geometry Grade: 11 Do Now: Problem Solver Challenge Standard(s): 12.0 Students find and use measures of sides and of interior and exterior angles of triangles and polygons to classify figures and solve problems. 22.0 Students know the effect of rigid motions on figures in the coordinate plane and space, including rotations, translations, and reflections. Learning Objective (s): Given a PowerPoint presentation, a worksheet and Khan Academy, students will be able to 4G Classify quadrilaterals as a rhombus, rectangle, and square. 4S Plot a quadrilateral in the coordinate plane and use transformations on the figure. 4T Explain the meaning of an isometry. by completing the exit slip with a 75% or better within the 2 hour block. Assessment: Students will complete a four-question exit slip Whole Group Independent / Computer Assisted Activity Note taking: Graphing quadrilaterals, isometry Khan Academy: Classify quadrilaterals video and practice Materials: Notebook, pencil, PowerPoint, graph paper Materials: Computer, notebook, pencil.
