Symmetry: arrangement of parts
Radial Symmetry: arranged in a circle
Examples: Starfish, Sea Urchins, and Sea Anemones
Bilateral Symmetry: parts are mirrored images of each other
Examples: Grasshoppers, Lobsters, and Butterflies
Asymetrical Symmetry: Irregular in shape – Sponges
Filter Feeders: Filters food out of the water and then it flows
through their bodies.
Flagella: Keep water and nutrients moving – small whiplike
tails.

CNIDARIANS:
Polyp: vase shaped body of a sea anemone
Medusa: free-swimming, bell-shaped bodies
Reproduce asexually by budding and sexually.
WORMS:
Parasitic: Feeds of their hosts because flatworms lack a
digestive system.
MOLLUSKS: soft bodied that some have a shell.
Mantle: Thin layer that covers the mollusk’s body.
Gills: Carbon Dioxide is exchanged for oxygen in the water.
Open Circulatory System: do not have vessels that contain
their blood instead blood washes over their organisms, which
are grouped together in a fluid filled cavity.
CEPHALAPODS:
Closed Circulatory System: Blood carried through vessels.
ARTHOPODS:
Appendages: jointed feet
Exoskeleton: rigid, outer covering
Molting: When an arthropod loses its exoskeleton
Metamorphosis: Changing from larvae to adult
