INVERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY SYLLABUS MRS. HARE COURSE DESCRIPTION: Zoology is offered to give high school students the chance to experience the classification system of animals. Students will explore the Kingdom Animalia while concentrating on invertebrate phyla- sponges, jellyfish, worms, snails, starfish and insects (to name a few!) Lab dissections and live animal studies will be included. COURSE OUTLINE: Qtr. 1 Classification, animal characteristics and development, symmetry, Porifera, Cnidaria, Platyhelminth Qtr 2 Nematode, Annelid, Mollusk, Echinoderm, Arthropod SUPPLIES: 1.
