Recognise symptoms, diagnostic and treatment options for a range of diseases in veterinary animals Course Content: Topics may include: Parameters, including environmental, nutritional and genetic factors, impacting on animal health Development of knowledge of common diseases in veterinary animals Understanding diagnostic methods and treatment options in disease or immunocompromised veterinary animals Values and Graduate Attributes: Values: V1. High Self Reliance The assessment tasks require students to work individually and in teams to solve complex problems, and develop strong communication and analytical skills through analysis of case studies, research, preparation of reports and oral presentations Medium Engaged Citizenship Students will develop knowledge and understanding of the impact of infectious diseases on veterinary animals, ethical problems associated with animal production and best practice treatment options. Medium Social Responsibility Students will develop an appreciation of the importance of disease management and the impact of disease on animal health and production.
