Soothsayer is the person who famously and cryptically warns Caesar to beware the "Ides
of March". The Ides of March refers to March 15, the day Julius Caesar is assassinated by the
Roman Conspirators. The Soothsayer warning raises an interesting question about fate and free
will. If Caesar would have heeded the warning to beware the Ides of March he could have
changed the course of events that day. Cassius believes that the nobility of Rome are responsible
for the government of Rome. They have allowed a man to gain excessive power, therefore they
have the responsibility to stop him. Cassius intensely dislikes Caesar personally but he also
deeply resents being subservient to a tyrant and there are Indications that he would fight for his
personal freedom under any tyrant. Cassius weaknesses are his strength which makes him an
unlikable character and his strengths are manipulation and politically savvy, Cassius was
motivated to assassinate Caesar because he Caesar gained a lot of power then Rome and Cassius.
Cassius was jealous of Caesar because he started to go against him and then commit his life.
Here are some facts about Cassius: Cassius do not like that Julius had become godlike in the eyes
of the Romans. The facts about soothsayer are that he is the one that had Julius to beware the
ides of March. Cassius had to kill somebody one day because a guy tried to run away with a flag.
Cassius harbor had no illusions about the way they political world work. When Cassius had
turned back to Rome around 50 BC when the war was about end between Caesar and Pompey.

Cassius supported Caesar, Cassius had left Italy when Caesar went to the Rubicon, When
Cassius sailed his ships when he fought and burned Caesar navy. When Cassius spent 2 years in
office, In 44 BC he became peregrinus with Syrian, Even though Cassius was a moving spirit in
the play. Cassius was urged to his liberators and hit Caesar in the chest, Cassius had lost to
Antony. Caesar made Cassius a legate, employing him in the Alexandrian War against the very
same Pharnaces whom Cassius had hoped to join after Pompey's defeat at Pharsalus. However,
Cassius refused to join in the fight against Cato and Scipio in Africa, choosing instead to retire to
Rome Cicero associates Cassius's new Epicureanism with a willingness to seek peace in the
aftermath of the civil war between Caesar and Pompeius Miriam Griffin dates his conversion to
as early as 48 BC, after he had fought on the side of Pompeius at the Battle of Pharsalus but
decided to come home instead of joining the last holdouts of the civil war in Africa. Cassius and
Marcus Brutus are part of the conspiracy to kill Ceasar for the good of Rome. Brutus used to be
Caesar's best friend but betrayed him by helping to kill him. Cassius was also part of the killing
of Cassius. In the end in the battle of Phillipi, Brutus and Cassisu join forces to fight against
Marc Antony and his troops. Cassius and Brutus are allies until Cassius accuses Brutus of taking
bribes. Brutus refuses to lift the accusation and the two have a falling out. They murdered him
because they were frightened of the dictator's absolute power, t's possible to make a strong case.
Cassius' motivations are purely self-serving; whereas Brutus' motivations are arguably for the
good of Rome. Therefore, each person. Cassius and Brutus is one that changes throughout the
play as the plot develops. Initially, in the famous seduction scene in it is Cassius who seems in
control and able to manipulate Brutus, exploiting his fears of the potential dangers of Caesar's
ever-increasing power for his own purposes. Cassius wants Brutus on the side of the
conspirators, as he is a respected and well-renowned person. Cassius and the conspiracy killed

Caesar. Cassius and the conspiracy killed him because they were jealous and they thought that he
was going to be over-powering. Cassius has an itching palmm and is corrupting their noble cause
by resorting to extortion to, Cassius harbors no illusions about the way the political world works.
A shrewd opportunist, he proves successful but lacks integrity.
