PhD PROGRAMME IN MOLECULAR AND TRANSLATIONAL ONCOLOGY
AND INNOVATIVE MEDICAL-SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIES
Required degree
The programme offers a 3-year PhD course with 12 fellowships per year, and is open to applicants holding a
5-year degree (BSc + MSc or equivalent degree) in biological or pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry,
engineering/informatics, as well as to MDs, with a strong commitment to translational cancer research.
Learning outcomes
Aim of this programme is to provide the trainees with a strong and interdisciplinary expertise in diverse
aspects of cancer biology and basic and translational cancer research. The programme Faculty comprises
qualified Italian and international experts in various basic and clinical cancer-related areas, bio-medical
engineering, nanotechnologies and systems biology.
The programme is articulated in four curricula: Molecular oncology; Biomedical engineering, systems biology
and applied nanotechnologies; Translational medical oncology; Innovative technologies and therapies in
urology and gynecology. Main areas of scientific interests include:
