Legion: a group of a few thousand soldiers, particularly in ancient Roman times.
Currency: money

Trajan: Adopted son of Nerva; during his reign as emperor, the Roman Empire grew to
its largest size
Tiberius: Augustus’ son; during his reign as emperor, he took political rights away from people
and made it a crime to criticize the emperor
Nerva: One of the “Five Good Emperors of Rome”
Nero: Roman emperor who was blamed for the burning of Rome
Marcus Aurelius: Roman emperor and last of the “Five Good Emperors”; the end of his
reign brought the Pax Romana to an end
Hadrian: Adopted son of Trajan; he built a wall, called Hadrian’s Wall, to make
the northernmost boundary of the Roman Britain
Claudius: Roman emperor who added Britain to the Roman Empire
Caligula: Roman emperor who demanded that his statue be placed in
