SAP2000 Purpose and capacities Calculation models Project of great significance Purpose and Functions The software system “SAP2000” is an integrated package for structural analysis of threedimensional building structures. The basic calculation algorithm is based on the most modern numerical interpretation of the “End Elements” method. The program maintains a rich library of end elements. The programming capabilities of “SAP2000” comprise the following types of numerical analysis: Static analysis; Lines of impact upon live loads loading; Stability of building structures; Modal analysis after the “Ritz” and “Eigen value” methods; Dynamic analysis of base movements of the“Response Spectrum” or “Time history” type; Non-linear analysis of building structures. “SAP2000” is licensed also for the analysis of buildings and facilities included within the system of NPPs. Calculation Models For demonstration of the potential capabilities of the program hereunder is presented only the calculation model of the Spent fuel storage area in “Kozloduy” NPP, used for the analysis of the task: “Substantiation of the dense storage of spent nuclear fuel assemblies from VVER-440 and VVER-1000”. “Kozloduy” NPP, Spent fuel storage area – calculation model, general view and a section, perspective view Major Projects: The program PC version of the computer code “SAP2000” is officially purchased in 2003 by “AtomENERGOPROEKT” Ltd. As an authorized client, “AtomENERGOPROEKT” Ltd possesses all application rights within the scope of the capabilities of the “SAP2000” calculation system. The computer code “SAP2000” is used in the development of the designs for the following projects: “Kozloduy” NPP, Spent fuel storage area - “Substantiation of the dense storage of spent nuclear fuel cassettes from VVER440 and VVER1000”; “Kozloduy” NPP, Spent fuel storage area – Analysis of the building structure’s bearing capacity; “Kozloduy” NPP, units 5&6, Receiver site, Hydrogen and nitrogen receivers – Ckecking the strength of elements, supports and foundations of the receivers upon hydraulic testing, accounting for their behaviour upon seismic impact, etc.
