747 NIRANKARIS DONATED BLOOD AT THE FOUR BLOOD DONATION
CAMPS, YESTERDAY
Mumbai, June 21, 2010: The Sant Nirankari Mandal, Mumbai Branch had
organized four blood donation camps at their Satsang Bhawans, (Spiritual
Congregation Centres) at Goregaon East, Dadar, Navy Nagar and Sanpada
(Navi Mumbai) on Sunday, 20th June, 2010 wherein 747 units of blood were
collected.
The noteworthy feature of the Nirankari Blood Donation Camps is the
willingness with which the Nirankari Devotees come out in large numbers to
donate blood. Guided by the teachings of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji
Maharaj, devotees believe in selfless service to the entire human fraternity.
At Goregaon East 363 units were collected jointly by B.Y.L.Nair Hospital
(243) and Bhagwati Hospital (120). The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Sunil
Prabhu, Leader of the House, MCGM. Among other dignitaries who visited the
camp were Sadashiv Patil, MLA. Mr.Sumangal Koltharkar (President, Ward
Committee MCGM) & Vinayak Kakade (Sr.Police Inspector). Vinayak Kakade
took part in the noble act and donated blood, too.
At Dadar, 165 units were collected by the K.E.M. Hospital. The camp was
inaugurated by Rev. Kuldeep Ji, Member, Exhibition Committee, Sant
Nirankari Mandal, Delhi. Kalidas Kolambkar, MLA, Dr.Sanjay Oak, Director,
K.E..M. Hospital and Dr.Praveen Banerji were amongst the dignitaries who
visited the Camp.
At Navy Nagar, 119 Units were collected by the St.George Hospital. The
Camp was inaugurated by Ms. Annie Shekhar, MLA also present was
Mr.Vinod Shekhar, MLC.
At Sanpada, 100 units were collected by the late Minatai Thakre Blood Bank
of NMMC. The camp was inaugurated by Mr.Sagar Naik, Mayor, Navi Mumbai.
The Sector Incharge, Area Incharge along with Nirankari Sewa Dal
Volunteers of the respective areas worked in close co-ordination to provide
the necessary infrastructure for the Blood Donation Camps.
Further the Mandal has planned four such camps on Sunday, 27th June,
2010 at Andheri, Chunabhatti, Kalwa and Uran.
In addition a gyenac check up and breast cancer detection camp will be
organized at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Dadar on Wednesday 23rd
June between 3 to 5 p.m. A Medical Check-up camp at Kandivali East will
also be organized on Sunday, 27th June, 2010.
