Sirius, Rigel and Aldebaron. The "ev ening star" V enus is appearing bri ghter
and b righter during the month of Januar y. A rare event, a total solar eclipse
visible from the United States will be on August 21, 2017. Come to the
planetarium to find out where to look for all these c elestial objects.

un Facts About Venus
It’s named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. It’s the only
planet named after a female.
It has no moons or rings
Unlike most other planets, it rotates clockwise (retrograde rotation).
Billions of years ago its climate may have been similar to Earth
One day on Venus is longer than one year on Earth
It’s the hottest planet in the solar system
It’s considered a sister planet to the Earth
It has very little temperature variation from day to night
It’s the second brightest object in the sky (Moon is the first)
The surface temperature on Venus can reach 471 °C.
Venus is also known as the Morning Star and the Evening Star
