Hello-
As we approach the end of 2015, I can say that our hard work is paying off and that we
stand on the verge of a major breakthrough in our fight against Wolfram syndrome. I’m
sure most of you know that Dr. Urano successfully completed the mouse trials. For the
first time since Raquel was diagnosed five years ago I am truly hopeful that we may
have found the means to stop the progression of this devastating disease.
We sit ready to conduct the first clinical trial of this new therapy, and, as usual
financial support continues to be the rate limiting factor. Getting to this point wasn’t easy. As
patients, caregivers, and family members, we have all supported each other and sacrificed
greatly to keep the research program and our hope alive.
I am asking you once more to join together as one. We have built a custom
crowdfunding platform at snowfunds.org , and we have lined-up athletes from the MLB
and NFL to support our campaign But this campaign will not succeed without you. We
need everyone to join the fundraiser and ask friends and family to make a small
contribution to support our clinical trial. Our need is urgent and our stories are powerful.
We have made it very easy for you to join the campaign and add the list of your friends
and family as potential donors. Once you add your list, the system will send out
donation requests and reminders. Please go to snowfunds.org and choose any team
you would like to join. You will then receive an email with a link that allows you to setup an account to fundraise. It does not take much effort, but if you have any questions,
please reach out to our partners at Althea Health who are hosting the infrastructure for
us. Their contact information is [email protected] and their phone number is (415)
857-3052.
The time is now. We will get the most donations this month of December. Please make
this a priority. I can’t think of a better holiday gift than a cure for Wolfram syndrome.
