Development’s global operations, advises the company’s Investment
Committees, and serves as the chair of Panattoni’s Sustainability Committee.
Willy identifies environmental risks, quantifies liabilities, and develops
strategies to successfully structure Brownfield property transactions. He is
familiar with and routinely works with some of the largest lenders and real
estate investment firms in the world. During the last 20 years, he has
participated in dozens of large redevelopment projects, including the
following while at Panattoni Development:
•
Ford Assembly Plant in St. Louis, Missouri (155 acres)
•
Boeing Facility in Anaheim, California (100 acres)
•
Samsonite Corporate Campus in Denver, Colorado (100 acres)
•
Solid Waste Landfill in Carteret, New Jersey (75 acres)
Prior to joining Panattoni, Willy was Vice President and General
Manager at WSP for 15 years, managing environmental consultants on
projects throughout North America and Europe. Prior to joining WSP, Willy
was a Division Manager at Greenhorne & O’Mara for 10 years where he cofounded the environmental practice. Previously, he conducted diamond
exploration for various diamond companies, including Harry Winston.
Willy received a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of
Maryland and a Master’s degree in Geochemistry and Remote Sensing from
Purdue University, where he served as a research fellow with the U.S. Bureau
of Mines, Office of Surface Mining, and IMMRRI. After graduation, he
received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Maryland,
where he also taught Environmental Geology. He speaks widely on a variety
of risk management, insurance, environmental, climate change, and related
topics.
