MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR ROANOKE COUNTRY CLUB About Roanoke Country Club: Roanoke Country Club, founded in 1899, is the oldest private member-owned country club in the Roanoke Valley. The Club has a longstanding tradition of offering quality facilities and services to a discerning membership. Roanoke is a full service private club with the area’s only 27-hole golf course, the top indoor tennis facility in the region, a renovated clubhouse offering an excellent food and beverage operation and an attractive seasonal pool facility. The indoor golf teaching/learning facility offers a new product in the Roanoke Valley by providing a center for off-season instruction and practice. Roanoke Country Club is seeking a membership professional to lead its recruitment and retention efforts. The Membership Director is an integral part of the management team as they are responsible for strategy and tactical execution of club marketing and sales efforts, both externally and internally. A key component of this position is the ability to effectively network and represent Roanoke Country Club in the Roanoke Valley market. Active participation in organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Civil Associations will be essential. The Director must be a relationship builder and be successful in winning the trust and confidence of prospective members, community influencers and the current membership. Qualifications Candidate should have a minimum of at least 4 years experience in a marketing and sales position with proven sales ability. Bachelors Degree in marketing, communications and/or journalism is preferred but not mandatory. Prior knowledge and experience in successful membership recruitment and retention campaigns in private country clubs is a plus. Candidate must be a self starter, independent worker, able to achieve a marketing plan by conducting market research and implementation of market assessments. In addition, must have an understanding of appropriate selling techniques as it relates to membership campaigns, programs and prospecting. Outstanding communication skills including: presentations, one-on-one and group communications along with exceptional written and verbal skills. A key component of this position is public relations and the ability to effectively network and represent the Club in the local community. Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with other departments, committees and the General Manager. Strong organizational, administrative, computer and database management skills and able to manage multiple projects. Must promote a positive company image, have a professional appearance and presentation along with the ability to interact with diverse groups. Candidates must be available and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Salary: Position will offer a base salary and commission/bonus on Membership sales. Benefits package includes eligibility for health insurance, dental, vision, 401K and paid time off. Association dues and continuing education allowance are also included.
