The concentration in each sample is, from left to right, 0, 10-12, 10-11, 10-10, 10-9, 10-8, 10-7 and 10-6 g·mL-1. The limit of detection for naked eye detection is 10-8 g·mL-1, which is the same as the limit of detection reported in Fig. 2a. This experiment demonstrates that the limit of detection is not affected by visual artifacts, and therefore that the lower limit of detection in Fig. 3 is originated by higher absorbance values.
