Make Up Assignment for Mystery Disease Assignment:
 Use either the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.gov) or the
National Institute for Health (NIH.gov) websites to complete the project.
For this assignment you will need to research infectious diseases and the causes. There
are several items to complete:
1. Mystery Disease 1 is based on Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS).
Using the above websites, look up information about HPS and fill out the
information to complete the Mystery Disease 1 Final Report. That
information can then be transcribed onto the Mystery Disease Summary Table
under #1.
2. For Mystery Disease 2 and 3, read the final report available for both diseases.
After researching the cause, symptoms, environmental factors and
transmission, make an educated guess as to the diseases we are dealing with.
Transcribe this information to the table under disease 2 and 3.
3. The questions at the bottom of the summary table are very important and need
to be answered in detail. THINK about the answers carefully before
answering.
 Important! You will not be graded on if you guessed right or wrong,
but on your thoroughness in researching the diseases.
