Through them an individual is initiated into the spiritual life, entering in communion with God or the Divine within. The secrets here are the props, costumes, words, sound, dance, scents, psychoactive drugs and various symbolical acts, all conceived to bring the Archetype to life while the individual is in an especially receptive state of mind.
