Monday On monday we went to the science fair to see the things that the eighth graders created and see if you connect it to things we have done in 6th grade. On of the projects had to do with air pressure and using it to create a soda slushy. Another used the fact that cold air sinks and warm air floats to see if a different drinks would sink or float in a bin of water. One thing I noticed was that a bottle with real sugar was the fastest to drop. Tuesday On tuesday we learned about climatology and how one graph can be used for two graphs by putting a bar graph and a line graph to compare how much precipitation and temperature there are for a city of choice. I chose San Diego California and our goal was to see if temperature and precipitation relate and we have come to the conclusion that yes precipitation does affect temperature. Wednesday On wednesday we learned about meteorology and we read about it while highlighting and finding important things about it such as words that are important. Meteorology is the study weather and a meteorologist is a scientist who studies weather; weather men are meteorologist. Thursday On thursday we created trading cards that were weather instruments to see what they do. Mine was a wind vane which find what direction the wind is going. Others included Barometers which measure wind speed, a wind sock, etc. All these instruments do better things, but some are harder than others to use. Friday On friday we played weather jeopardy which went over the gist of everything we learned about weather this year such as things from John Marshall. The higher the points chosen the harder the questions were. Some questions included three weather instruments, clouds, etc.
