Activity Book
The Universe is everything that exists: all
planets, stars, galaxies and all of the other objects
in space.
A galaxy is a large collection of stars,
along with gas, dust and other stuff. The galaxy
that we live in is called the Milky Way.
A Star is a massive ball of luminous hot gas,
held together by gravity. Our nearest star is called
the Sun.
A planet, such as the Earth or Jupiter, is
a large object that orbits a star. A planet doesn’t
produce its own light..

Astronomers have found hundreds of
planets that are not within our
Solar System. These planets travel
around other stars in our Galaxy.
Imagine some new planets
around a distant star. What colour is
the star? How many planets orbit it?
Draw it!
