Kidney Wood- Eysenhardtia texana
Texas Prairie Verbena- verbena bipinnatifida ,syn. Glandularia bipinnatifida,
6-24 inches
depending on soil fertility with Spread to 3 ft. ground
spreading and rooting. Spring and fall major bloom.
Cut back late spring and later for continuous bloom.
Sun, well drained soil. Butterflies, evergreen rosette.

Nolina lindheimeriana-
Broad, open, multi-trunk shrub 4-10 ft. Leaf branches
with many brached leaflets. Extreme drought tolerant
when established. Dry, rocky limestone soils. Fragrant
white flowers which are very popular with all of the
Texas pollinators. I call it my musical tree because of
all the noises insects make when visiting this shrub.

Liatris mucronata- narrow leaf gayfeather

perennial with large, woody, basal stems growing in a
clump. Leaves evergreen, forming a thick clump.
Flowers small, white to cream, in dense vertical
clusters 10 inches or more long by 2 inches or more
wide at the tops of rather short stems, appearing in
spring and early summer. Fruit distinctly 3-lobed, a
thin-walled capsule 3/16 to 1/4 inch wide. Flowers
barely protrude above the foliage. Evergreen, extreme
drought tolerant. Central Texas

silvery-white perennial, 1 1/2-3 ft. tall, Colony
forming. Shrub-like, white, densely matted with
hairs, from rhizome. Small, yellowish flowers are
secondary to the silver color of the erect stems and
narrow leaves, created by a dense coat of hairs.
