Monster Genetics
Monsters have only one pair of chromosomes. Each chromosome has five genes on it.
Use the following information to help you sketch your monster, then find a partner to “breed” your
monster with. (Each “parent” should randomly choose one chromosome to contribute to the
“offspring.”)
Both you and your partner should sketch the offspring. Record the genes listed on the two
chromosomes next to each sketch. You can switch partners if you choose to.

B = blue (most dominant)
R = red (2nd most dominant)
G = green (3rd most dominant)
Y = yellow (most recessive)
(note, this gene has 4 alleles ranked by their
dominance, but a monster can only be one
color – the color indicated by the most
dominant allele present)
